I would like to give glory to God and share my testimony of how God protects His children! I took Justin to McDonalds for lunch today. We were eating and having a good time when I took a sip of my drink and started to cough. It began to get hard for me to breathe. I kept gasping for air but that just made it even harder to control the cough. I looked over at Justin who kept asking me, "mommy are you ok?" His voice grew fainter and fainter to me. I couldn't answer him. I began to look around, I knew this was something I could not handle on my own. In my head I thought, "God please help me!" I turned and saw a lady with a young boy sitting behind me and motioned to her that I was choking. I was short of breath and unable to speak. It felt like something was lodged in my throat. Very calmly she stood up, walked over to me and started to pat the center of my back. She raised my arms above my head to help allow air to pass. There was something very soothing about the way she spoke to me. Her voice was very soft spoken and extremely comforting. She kept me at peace and talked to me the entire time. She told me she was a Respiratory Therapist and walked me through everything I was feeling. I believe God sent her there for me.

She was exactly what I needed and she knew how to take care of me. She managed to help me breathe got me a hot tea and sat with Justin and me until I was feeling better. She continued to talk to me and kept us both at complete peace. I felt the comfort of God and I know that he was protecting me. The Bible says in Psalms 91:1-2 "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him will I trust."

Today, through Jesus we have the wonderful privilege of dwelling in the “secret place of the Most High,” through worship wherever we are. Worship allows us to take our search for God to that inner chamber where God becomes everything to us, where the desire is to feast in His presence, to enjoy His fellowship, to know Him intimately, to know Him in a wonderful consistent way - for God is everything. That’s the place of divine satisfaction... that’s the secret place.

When we live with God as the central focus of our life, there becomes something very personal about our Christian faith. He’s no longer just God, He’s my God. He’s no longer just the Shepherd, He’s my Shepherd. He’s no longer just the Heavenly Father, He’s my Heavenly Father. He’s no longer the Savior of the World, He’s my Savior.  

Along with this personal relationship comes many blessings. This is when God holds you tightly and keeps you safe in the shadow of His wings. When you love the Lord with all your heart, He will rescue you and protect you when you call upon His name. He is with us in times of trouble and He will deliver those who love Him. God knows the hearts of His children. When you live your life striving to trust in Him and put Him first in all you do, He becomes your refuge and keeps you safe. 

Man who yearns for the heart of God is a man who lives under God's divine protection and a sense of His presence - always.  Thank You Jesus!
